Massage Therapist they/them

Our bodies contain our histories, our stories, our wisdom. As a massage therapist, I seek to facilitate a safe and empowering environment for you to explore your somatic history and experience affirming, reverent touch. By weaving together intuition and expertise, I believe we can arrive at a space of deeper self comfort, knowledge, and ease.

My clients are often people looking for an embodied, healing experience. When working together, I always aim to consider the impacts that larger societal systems introduce on the mind and body, and value listening, client autonomy, and a sense of curiosity. I utilize the Health at Every Size framework, which you can read more about here.

My client focus

My therapeutic approach

The work I do is generally slow and meditative. I treat the whole person, the physical, as well as energetic and emotional, layers. To do this, I integrate neurofascial work, energetic techniques, and treatment-based massage. Fascial work is a slow process of listening to and unwinding the connective tissues that bind, protect, and conduct our entire system. Fascia can hold memory, patterns, and energy. By attending to fascia, the body is offered experiences of ease and enjoyment, helping to build new positive patterns. Pain is often our body trapped in past moments of trauma. My work aims to help bring the body into the present moment, out of a state of pain. Each session will be unique and built around your body. Both verbal and non-verbal communication leads the experience. You are the expert of your own pain, your own comfort, your own body.

Whole Therapies is up a single flight of stairs. There are handrails on both sides of the staircase. Unfortunately, there is no elevator. If you are unable to walk up stairs, I am happy to coordinate a home visit within 5 miles in any direction of Whole Therapies at my standard rates. I currently have space to do home visits on Tuesdays. For a home visit, I will need a space to put my massage table and a sink to be able to wash my hands before and after the session. If you would like to schedule a home visit, please fill out the consultation request form on our contact page. I do not currently have the space in my schedule to offer home visits to people who are able to access my office. If you live further than 5 miles or do not have a space you are able to receive massage in, feel free to ask about referrals for other practitioners with accessible spaces.

Accessibility Note

Occasionally, my dog Dylan will join us in the space. He is a very good boy who loves chilling out and snoozing while we work. There is a space to note on the intake form if you would not like him to join for the massage. I vacuum and clean every day so as to keep the space as allergy free as possible, but if you have a severe allergy to dog hair, please let me know on your form and we can find an accomodation.
